The Melmac magic mushroom variety is thought to be a variant/mutation of Penis Envy, and some people even claim that Melmac is the original Penis Envy (the consensus in the mycology community is that PE originated either from an Amazon specimen, or possibly a Melmac specimen). Judging by the aesthetic characteristics of Melmac fruiting bodies, it is apparent that this variety definitely shares some lineage with Penis Envy.

Not only does Melmac bear physical resemblance to Penis Envy, it's also reported to be exceptionally potent. Feedback found online, from the likes of Shroomery and various SubReddit communities, reports that the experience elicited after consuming Melmac is a distinct, intense, visually stimulating, and euphoric ride.

Spores Lab has further increased the strength of our Melmac cultures, and this genetic now also boasts exceptionally fast colonization. Aesthetically, this strain typically produces medium-large sized mushrooms, with thick, dense stems and large yellow to pale white caps, often split at the margins. Sporulation is moderate.

We have also tested this variety using the PSILO-Q Test kit, the first ever home-use quantitative psilocybin testing kit. Results show that this variety contains between 1.4 and 1.6% tryptamine content. By comparison, the average Psilocybe Cubensis mushroom contains between 0.6 and 0.8% tryptamine content.

Strain Origin:

Cap: 100+ mm in diameter, convex to broadly convex to plane at maturity. Pale yellowish white maturing to bright white/light yellow. Surface dry with pronounced and persistent remnants of universal veil on cap (spots). Flesh white soon bruising bluish green when handled.

Stem: 125+ mm in length, yellowish white. Flesh bruising bluish green where injured. Persistent membranous annulus (ring) from partial veil that becomes dusted with purple brown spores at maturity.

Gills: Attachment adnate to adnexed. Grayish coloration in young fruit bodies becoming nearly black in maturity.

Spores: Dark Purplish-Black, subellipsoid on 4-spored basidia
