The Malabar magic mushroom strain was originally sourced from the southwestern Malabar Coast of India, and is renowned for producing fruiting bodies (mushrooms) of enormous size! (our record for largest malabar mushroom was just over 1lb wet!!)

It is a moderately potent strain similar in effect to Transkei, a socially stimulating and energetic experience. Effects include feelings of euphoria, love, uncontrollable laughter, bodily vibration, and light visual hallucination.

Its visual charasteristics often consist of dense, thick stems and large broad gold/light yellow caps. Caps are usually darker near the centre, fading towards the edge. It has moderate sporulation, and is a heavy yielding strain with pinsets often covering the entire mycelial mat.

We have also tested this variety using the the PSILO-Q Test kit, the first ever home-use quantitative psilocybin testing kit. Results show that this variety contains approximately 1.6% tryptamine content. By comparison, the average Psilocybe Cubensis mushroom contains between 0.6 and 0.8% tryptamine content.

Strain Origin: India - Malabar Coast

Cap: 100+ mm in diameter, concave to broadly convex at maturity occasionally with dark spot in centre of cap. Dark cinnamon brown maturing to golden brown. Surface dry lacking remnants of universal veil on cap (spots). Flesh white soon bruising bluish green.

Stem: 75-125+ mm in length, yellowish to white. Flesh bruising bluish green where injured. Persistent membranous annulus (ring) from partial veil that becomes dusted with purple brown spores at maturity.

Gills: Attachment adnate to adnexed. Grayish coloration in young fruit bodies becoming nearly black in maturity.

Spores: Dark purplish brown, subellipsoid on 4-spored basidia
