Brand: Spores Lab

Psilocybe Teonanacatl - Also known as "Flesh of the Gods". During the rainy season extending from September to May, buffalo breeders bring their pets to farms flooded by the road BR 319 that connects the Careiro Varzea Careiro to Brown. With the end of the rains the animals are transported to other areas. In July of 2008 Mauritius entered a farm and collected a mushroom of the genus Psilocybe mexicana from the buffalo manure.

The spores of this strain where clean on agar and sectors of mycelium where isolated for 1 year to select the best growing mycelium on rice and corn. The name is in reference to the site Teonanacatl. We have also tested this variety using the PSILO-Q Test kit, the first ever home-use quantitative psilocybin testing kit. Results show that this variety contains between 1.4 and 1.6% tryptamine content. By comparison, the average Psilocybe Cubensis mushroom contains between 0.6 and 0.8% tryptamine content.

Spores Lab acquired our Psilocybe Teonanacatl genetic (in the format of a wild mushroom spore print) in late 2021, from a local BC mycology enthusiast. Since then we have been hard at work since isolating and refining the genetic to prepare it for sale. We are now confident in offering it, and will continue to refine and culture indefinitely.

Spawning Psilocybe Teonanacatl mycelium can be done in a similar fashion to Cubensis (rye, wheat, oat, corn or other grains can be used) however they require the addition of ligneous material (wood) to the substrate in order to fruit. You must add hardwood chips or sawdust to your substrate, and fruiting can be done in similar conditions to cubensis.
